TON’s Grand Vision for 2028: Ambitious Dream or Achievable Reality?
Pushing the boundaries of blockchain, The Open Network (TON) aims to create a self-governing platform for apps and services. Its strategic partnership with Telegram is just the beginning.
In September 2023, in a statement on TON’s official Twitter account, they announced their goal of reaching 800 million users by 2028. But is this goal realistic? Can TON reach such a large user base in just five years?
This goal may seem like a bold step in the Web3 ecosystem, but it is not impossible. I think TON will have to develop many strategies to reach this big goal and show how determined they are to achieve it.
In the first week of 2024, a detailed article was published about what TON did in 2023. Reaching 104,715 transactions/second, breaking the record of being the fastest blockchain in the world, launching the TON Space wallet in cooperation with Telegram, launching the TON Storage service, establishing the TON Believers Fund, partnerships with major companies… etc. All of them were very important developments for the TON ecosystem. When we look at all the developments in 2023, there is actually a steady progress, but I think it is very important to maintain this stability in 2024.
Especially considering the Telegram user base, many more applications should be developed and TON wallet integrations should be realized. Telegram users should be offered special additional benefits. Much more campaigns should be organized about the services that are among the TON components and that most users use in their daily lives.
Although there are currently game applications in the application center, more general games can be integrated and even tournaments can be organized and prizes can be distributed. At this stage, I expect great breakthroughs especially from Animoca Brands, the Web3 gaming and metaverse leader. The fact that it is the largest validator in the TON Network increases the likelihood of this expectation becoming a reality.
As a result, TON must finely process the treasure in its hands. Because including telegram users in the ecosystem will allow TON to grow much faster and increase collaborations with other networks and projects. Who can turn their back on such a huge market, right?
TON’s vision for 2028 is not only a technological success, but could also be a strategic success story. We will see this together.
